We welcome guest posts by authors who are promoting a book (or books) published by an independent or university press.

Here are some options for posts. Please contact us for approval before submitting to contact@bigindiebooks.com. If you need this as part of a blog tour, please include date range for the post and we can let you know if that is an option. Also note that we are getting so many “Playlists” there is a good chance that we won’t accept your submission so we encourage you to think about one of the other options below 🙂

1. LISTICLE

Tell us 5 books in a particular genre, or that fit a specific theme (books by Australian authors) or that fit a particular current event (spooky tales for Halloween IF it is near Halloween). This works best if you choose a theme that your own book would fit in since a person who is reading the article to the end to see the info about your own book, probably has interest in it! You can also choose non-book items if they are relevant to readers; such as movies adapted from books.

We need: The post, proofread, in a word document. It should include:

  1. An introductory Paragraph about the list you are recommending. Share your personality and voice in the writing! Rated PG please.
  2. The list itself. For each book, the name of the book, link to Amazon, (we can get the cover there), and a sentence on why you recommend it.
  3. An author bio.
  4. Info on the book you are promoting with link to it on Amazon.

Also include as attachments, your author photo, photo of your book.

2. GUEST POST

Write a guest post on a related topic that our readers would enjoy. Our readers are bibliophiles first and foremost. Some are also authors and some are in the book industry in some way. Remember we are celebrating small press books, so a guest post on a big 5 publishing company isn’t going to be a match. This works best if you choose a topic that somehow relates to your book (the content, the process, etc.).

We need: The post, proofread, in a word document. It should include:

  1. Your guest post with title
  2. An author bio
  3. Info on the book you are promoting with link to it on Amazon.

Also include as attachments, your author photo, photo of your book, and any images that go with the post. In addition to attaching, paste them into the word doc in the location they would go in the post.

3. AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Provide us with an author interview (questions and answers) or choose from our list: always answer the first and last in the list (denoted with ##) and choose any 8 of the others. You are free to include two of your own questions.

We need: The post, proofread, in a word document. It should include:

  1. A short introduction to the interview.
  2. The interview itself.
  3. An author bio.
  4. Info on the book you are promoting with link to it on Amazon.

Also include as attachments, your author photo, photo of your book
