Bunny Graves is the combustible engine of Dark Matter: a woman trying to outrun her own history and out-fight pain, while she kicks and spins the teetering world to pieces—and when she meets star producer Ari Regon, she knows she’s found the one person who can help her do it, recognizing in Ari the same force she feels in her own heart. Because Bunny always knows exactly what she wants, and is always ready to do whatever it takes to get it.
Finding the right questions to ask, ones that she would actually answer, was a daunting task, but here is the Bunny Graves Q&A.
Q: You’re very fit and athletic! You must work out a lot. What martial arts do you practice?
BG: Only the useful ones.
Q: Do you play any other sports?
BG: That depends on what you consider a sport. I do play backgammon.
Q: Are you a fashion maven? You have some very interesting footwear, those boots look custom made. And you seem to have an extensive wardrobe, ranging from boxing gloves to ballgowns.
BG: Alexander McQueen once said “I want people to be afraid of the women I dress” which is one reason I love wearing his designs. Some other designers I enjoy are Zhang Hopper, Stephen Sprouse, and Everlast. And lipstick is key—I always have at least two tubes of Carna Purest Red in my bag.
Q: You also seem to enjoy collecting quotes, from people like McQueen, and Mary Shelley –
BG: Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley.
Q: – and Jung, and Clive Barker—you must be very well-read.
BG: Is that a question?
Q: What’s your perfect evening out?
BG: There’s no such thing as perfection. But a night spent listening to FRegon—Felix Perez, the most transcendent musician I have ever met—that would come very close, especially if I were having drinks with Ari Regon at the same time. Ari and Felix are an extremely intriguing couple—I find them fascinating.
Q: You had a short but intense career as a professional dominatrix, yet your background, your family is a very successful international –
BG: I have no interest in discussing family-of-origin gossip.
Q: Will you talk at all about your growing-up years?
BG: I’m very good at backgammon.
